Open Call Dance Auditions - Sunday 30th June, 10.30am -12pm Dublin

YOUNG DANCERS REQUIRED FOR THEATRE PRODUCTION

THIS OCTOBER IN BRAY & DUBLIN CITY CENTRE

Hatch Theatre Company, in association with Once Off Productions and Mermaid Arts Centre is looking for young people, boys and girls aged 8 -16 to perform and dance in a professional theatre production of The Jesus Trilogy. The Jesus Trilogy is the world premiere production of an adaptation of a series of novels by J.M. Coetzee by Eoghan Quinn with Annabelle Comyn, directed by Annabelle Comyn with choreography by Megan Kennedy from Junk Ensemble. The production will be presented in October in the Mermaid Arts Centre and Project Arts Centre.

Performers of all diversity with dance experience required. Experience in any style of dance (contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, Irish) welcome. The style of choreography in production will be primarily influenced by contemporary dance.

Auditions will take place on Sunday 30th June from 10.30am - 12pm at the iD8 studio in The Digital Hub.

Please note that a parent/guardian is required to be present for the duration of the auditions.

Further information:

·        Required commitment for performers selected:

o   Rehearsals (26th August – 28th September): between 1-2 short rehearsals per week - i.e. 1 weekday 4:30-6:30pm and Saturday mornings (times and days to be confirmed)

o   Technical rehearsal and dress rehearsals (primarily afternoons/evenings during weekdays to avoid clash with school)

o   Performances on 4th & 5th October (Mermaid Arts Centre) and 9th – 19th October (excluding Monday 14th, performance start times is 7.30pm/8pm plus one weekend matinee).

·        Dance rehearsals will take place in central Dublin i.e. DanceHouse or Leinster Cricket Club Rathmines.

·        All rehearsals/performances will abide by the regulations of the Theatre Licence for Theatre.

·        A garda vetted chaperone will be provided to supervise the children during rehearsals, technical period and performances.

·        A stipend for attendance at rehearsals and performance days per dancer will be paid.
